II Yo Dona Jewellery Meeting
Last December at the Espacio Gourmet Excellence in El Corte Ingles of Castellana in Madrid the II Yo Dona Jewellery Meeting took place with spanish designers and jewellery firms where the strenghts and challenges of the industry were analyzed.
A score of representatives showed their ideas, the most important being the need to communicate, make known their craftmanship and value their proposals in an industry that generates around 15.000 million euros a year and the exportations during 2010 were of 733 millons, a 35% more than last year's, the spanish desing is valued internationally because is different, spokeswoman Elena Rohner said. One of the concerns is the national market, we need new a generation of customers, women go shopping but never include jewellery. We must educate and teach them what a brand is. We must spend time with the customer, only doing this they will return. The press and magazines, such as Yo Dona, which include jewellery among their fashion articles are vital to achieve the jewel as a daily use complement. Among the brands who attended the meeting were Carrera & Carrera, Duran, Tous, Le Cadó, Chus Burés, Rabat and of course Isabel Guarch.
