ISABEL GUARCH, THE FIRST MALLORCAN JEWELER PRESENT AT THE NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, SHARES THE CATWALK

The most iconic jewels of Isabel Guarch’s Mediterranean collections shared yesterday at the #NYFW catwalk with the paintings of Domingo Zapata, the reggaeton singer Nicky Jam, and the dancer Isaac de los Reyes, in a parade full of Spanish symbols: an authentic artistic performance.

In addition to the Mediterranean collections Estel, Formentor, Palma, Vents and high jewelry pieces, the collection "Happy Heart" was also presented, created by Isabel Guarch in collaboration with Domingo Zapata. This collection captures in jewels the iconic asymmetric hearts present in Zapata's works.

For this incredibly special parade, a 19th-century Neo-Gothic synagogue from Manhattan was chosen, with amazing decoration.

The catwalk began with the performance of the flamenco dancer Isaac de los Reyes, while a Federico García Lorca poem was being played, recited in English by the actor Carlos Mollá.

The models wore dresses painted by Domingo Zapata as if they were canvases, Isabel Guarch jewelry and Steve Madden “punk” boots, also painted by Zapata.

The artistic performance reached its climax when rapper Nicky Jam came out to sing three of his hits: "X", "Hasta el amanecer" and "El amante", while Zapata painted colorful hearts on the black jumpsuits of the models, who wore jewels from the Estel collection, Formentor, Palma, pearl necklaces, and unique pieces by Isabel Guarch.

Domingo Zapata painted with Spanish pop motifs paper bags as masks, with which the models’ faces were covered in order to "launch a social message of gender equality".
